Bella Kotak is a fine art and fashion photographer known for her ethereal, story driven imagery that sits between reality and fantasy. Born in Kenya and shaped by a multicultural upbringing, her work is infused with a rich sense of color, nature, and narrative.
With a background in architecture and design, Bella brings a strong sense of composition and detail into her practice. She creates immersive, painterly scenes, often inspired by fairy tales, where subjects are placed within natural landscapes and styled with thoughtful costume and artistry. Her work explores themes of transformation, femininity, and our connection to the natural world.
Her photography has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, London, Seoul, and Paris, and featured across a range of publications. In 2022, she appeared on Extraordinary Portraits, and in 2021 her piece The Kiss received the INPRNT Photography Award at the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize.
Alongside her artistic work, Bella is passionate about education and regularly teaches workshops and speaks at events, sharing her approach to storytelling and image making. She is also the founder of Only The Curious, a platform offering creative tools and resources for photographers, and works as an ambassador for Phase One, SmugMug, Canson Paper, and Vanguard.
